Snowless in Tokyo.

Winter in Tokyo is much, much milder than I’m used to. The daytime temperature has ranged between the mid-40s to the low 50s, with nighttime dropping to the mid-30s. (It actually hit 61° this afternoon.) While I know it’s snowed in Tokyo this winter — I’ve seen photos — I can genuinely say I have not personally seen a single flake. It’s been rainy, windy, and very cold here… but back home, they’ve seen snow and subzero temperatures. Even Nagoya had snow and ice when I was there. Someone told me Tokyo was basically a “heat island,” and I believe it. I’ve had to deal with snow every year since I’ve been alive until this one, and I do not miss it at all.
